Abstract:
It’s a common mentality of people in our society that Ayurved system is meant only for treating chronic ailments and it doesn’t have much to offer in acute cases. This thinking may have shades of reality and preformed notions but Ayurved has potential to rectify this,as could be seen here.
A patient named Gopal came to Government Ayurved Dispensary Bhilapur,Ta. Dabhoi, Dist. Vadodara. He had a big wound on back side of skull, covering whole occipital area and nape of neck. It had started from a small boil, which eventually ruptured. The mother of the child wasn’t careful enough and the wound spread with great speed covering almost the back of head, up to the ears and upper neck region as shown in the below picture. The wound had not just spread extensively on surface but had also invaded deeper tissues upto the the bony level. As per principles of Ayurved, the child was examined in context of other parameters and was found emaciated and hence he was given treatment on that line too
